Is VoiceDict really not a subscription?
Really not. You pay €9.99 once per Mac and the license is yours for good. There is nothing to cancel because nothing renews.
What do I need to run it?
A Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or newer) and macOS 15 or later. Recording and speech recognition run on the Mac. Optional Luna formatting requires an internet connection and your own OpenAI API key.
How much disk space and memory does it use?
VoiceDict stores one speech model on your Mac, using about 460 MB of disk. Optional formatting runs through OpenAI, so there is no multi-gigabyte formatting model in memory or on disk.

Does my audio go to the cloud?
No. Recording and speech recognition happen on your Mac, so audio is never uploaded. If you enable optional Luna formatting, only the recognized transcript text is sent to OpenAI through your own API account.
